Rutile Type

Titanium dioxide is an inorganic chemical raw material, which is widely used in industrial production such as coatings, plastics, rubber, papermaking, printing inks, chemical fibers, and cosmetics. Titanium dioxide has two crystal forms: rutile and anatase. Rutile titanium dioxide, that is, R-type titanium dioxide; anatase titanium dioxide, that is, A-type titanium dioxide. Rutile titanium dioxide has excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high strength, and small specific gravity. Compared with anatase titanium dioxide, it has higher weather resistance and better photooxidative activity.

Application of plastic products:

Universal titanium dioxide (such as PA101) is widely used in plastic masterbatch, pipes, plates, etc. It has excellent whiteness and color fading power, which can improve the heat resistance, light resistance, weather resistance of plastic products, as well as improve mechanical and electrical properties.  
Specialized titanium dioxide (such as R-105, SR-240) is designed for specific scenarios, such as:
R-105 is suitable for color masterbatch, PVC flooring, pipes, and rubber products, with excellent dispersibility and color stability.  
SR-240 is suitable for plastics such as polyolefins, ABS, PS, etc. It can enhance UV resistance and maintain color durability.
Application of rubber products:
Titanium dioxide mainly improves the weather resistance and color stability of products in the rubber field, such as:
High performance titanium dioxide (such as BLR series) absorbs ultraviolet rays through surface treatment technology and is applied to external rubber products such as tire curtain rubber and conveyor belt rubber, giving the product stronger weather resistance and color stability.

Application in paint and coatings:

The high refractive index of titanium dioxide (2.76 for rutile and 2.55 for anatase) makes it the optimal white pigment, with a coverage of approximately 450 square centimeters per gram, which is more than three times that of traditional lithopone
By controlling the particle size between 0.2-0.3 μ m (close to half of the visible light wavelength), the light scattering effect can be maximized and the coating coverage can be enhanced.
1. Architectural coatings: Among interior and exterior wall coatings, rutile type is mostly used for low cost interior walls, while rutile type is used for exterior walls (with strong weather resistance)
2. Industrial coatings: For scenarios such as automotive paint and pipeline coatings that require high weather resistance, the proportion of rutile type is up to 70%.
3. Functional coatings: Nanoscale titanium dioxide can be used for self-cleaning glass coatings or environmentally friendly coatings, which decompose pollutants through photocatalysis

Physical sunscreen:

Titanium dioxide can absorb and scatter ultraviolet radiation, and has a blocking effect on both medium wave ultraviolet (UVB) and long wave ultraviolet (UVA) radiation. It is widely used in products such as sunscreen and BB cream. Its safety is high, and the EU, US, and China all allow a maximum addition of 25%.  
Whitening cover:
As a white pigment, titanium dioxide can even skin color and cover defects. It is often used in makeup products such as skin cream and liquid foundation. Large particle titanium dioxide (titanium dioxide) has strong coverage and is suitable for creating matte makeup effects; Small particle titanium dioxide is more transparent and is commonly used in sunscreen products.  
Oil absorption and control:
Titanium dioxide, as an amphoteric oxide, can absorb facial grease, and is often used in makeup products such as loose powder and powder to help keep makeup fresh.
